Dr. Lisa Shaw, PT, DPT, MTC, FDN

Dr. Lisa Shaw received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2014 from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, CA. Before physical therapy school, Dr. Shaw earned her B.S. in Health Ecology from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Through her education, she formed a particular interest in orthopedics and the musculoskeletal system. She relished seeing people from all populations benefiting from the work of physical therapists to help them achieve their goals and improve daily function after injury. Once working in the field as a physical therapist, she earned a Manual Therapy Certification (MTC) for her extended study in joint and soft tissue manipulation. Dr. Shaw additionally became certified in dry needling to further help her patients recover from their injuries.

Lisa specializes in evaluation and treatment of a wide range of orthopedic injuries while incorporating her specialty knowledge in manual techniques for a hands-on approach as an adjunct to therapeutic exercise. Lisa believes physical therapy provides a vital service of health and wellness to the community. It is crucial to educate patients on their impairments and give them all of the tools to restore a healthy lifestyle. In addition to being specially trained in manual therapy, she enjoys getting to know a patient’s personal interests to incorporate meaningful activities into their functional recovery.
