Golf Elbow Treatment

Golf elbow, also known as medial epicondylitis, causes pain, stiffness and tenderness around the inside of your elbow which can be felt particularly when turning your wrists or gripping. It ’s a common overuse injury among golf players, but it can occur from other sports such as racquet sports and weight bearing activities. Common causes of golf elbow are overuse or misuse of the muscle and associated soft tissue due to grip strength that is too tight for the task being performed. Symptoms include pain when extending the wrist and when squeezing with the affected arm.

Our Golf Elbow Treatment

Treatment usually includes rest for up to 6 weeks, shockwave therapy, dry needling, physical therapy utilizing various soft tissue modalities to aid healing, and exercises designed to work on grip strength and range of motion in the joint. To avoid golfing injuries you should maintain correct swing biomechanics and warm up correctly before play.
