Heart Risk Assessment

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control, over 600,000 people die from heart disease each year, while the number continues to rise. With a wide range of conditions, from congenital heart disease to heart murmurs, falling under this category, understanding one’s risk level is quite important. Heart Risk Assessment testing helps patients better understand their risk of heart disease.

The healthcare providers at Austin Preferred use an integrated approach to create treatment plans unique to each patient’s needs. Scanning for certain conditions that could impede progress from physical medicine and rehab is a core component of this approach. Moreover, these specialized tests are broken up into four categories — lipids, inflammation, metabolics and genetics — providing a comprehensive look at risk factors for each. Boston Heart has also created five exclusive tests, including:

Heart Risk Assessment:

While assessing a patient’s risk for heart disease, these tests can also help gauge the body’s response to Physical Therapy, Chiropractic and Manual Therapy treatment. Following an evaluation by our medical providers, a routine blood draw will be conducted and the sample will be sent off for analysis. We will receive the results approximately 10 business days after sending the sample off.

Most major health insurance carriers cover heart risk assessments. Furthermore, testing carries no out-of-pocket costs for Medicare patients.
