Studies show that an estimated 2 billion adults are overweight worldwide. Of this group, approximately 700 million are considered to be obese. Obesity is defined as having an excessively high amount of body fat, which can lead to other serious health problems, including diabetes, cancer, strokes and heart attacks, among others. Because there are so many risk factors associated with being overweight, it is imperative in some cases to lose weight quickly, safely and effectively. It is for this reason that Austin Preferred Integrative Medicine offers multiple weight loss programs in Austin.
While the providers at Austin Preferred typically use a natural, holistic approach, they also realize people respond differently to certain techniques. It is for this reason that we offer personalized weight loss programs using both natural and medical weight loss techniques.
Whenever possible, our providers strive to use natural, holistic treatment options to assist patients in accomplishing their wellness goals. Consequently, our personalized wellness and weight loss programs are designed to help our patients shed body fat using natural approaches.
What sets our weight loss programs apart is the depth of health data we use to tailor a patient’s program to meet their specific needs. Weight loss programs begin with a comprehensive exam done by our medical provider. This includes testing including body composition analysis, Food Sensitivity Testing, Genetic Nutrition Testing, and an array of blood panels.
After reviewing the results, we will generate a personalized program designed to help optimize the patient’s body’s fat-burning systems. These programs combine specialized detoxification, dieting, supplements, and fasting, typically lasting around six weeks. Furthermore, we will conduct weekly followup visits to gauge progress and make alterations when necessary.
Our Medical Weight Loss programs are designed for people who need to lose weight quickly or have not responded to other approaches. With that said, not everybody is a candidate. We will first determine patients’ candidacy in an initial evaluation before proceeding with treatment. If our providers determine MWL to be a viable option for the patient’s wellness goals, we will then enroll them in a program. These usually consist of an initial detox program, blood panels, HCG, Lipo B12 injections, appetite suppressants, and meal programs.
This regimen is designed to suppress food cravings while stimulating the body’s fat-burning properties. Although some patients experience rapid weight loss in the first two weeks, results often vary. Moreover, these programs also last around six weeks on average, with weekly follow-up visits to gauge progress.
Unfortunately, health insurance does not cover weight loss programs. However, we offer them at an affordable self-pay rate. Because we understand the importance of weight loss programs, we also offer free consultations with our medical provider.
